Two men have been taken to hospital after an incident on Mount Seymour early Thursday.
"Injuries to both males appear to be related to criminal actions," North Vancouver RCMP tweeted just before 9 a.m. PT.
A distress call from an injured "hiker/camper" on the Dog Mountain trail came in some time before 7 a.m. PT., according to North Shore Rescue.
Heavily armed members of the RCMP's Emergency Response Team started up the trailhead on snowshoes just before 7:30 a.m. PT. Several North Shore Rescue crew members followed.
RCMP said a man was found about 15 minutes from the parking lot and a waiting ambulance took him to hospital. The second man was found shortly afterward and was also taken to hospital.
Mounties said an investigation is "fluid and ongoing," with support services on scene. RCMP said there is no concern for public safety.
Officers will be providing an update at a news conference at 11:30 a.m. PT.
